I bought this for scar prevention/reduction of a new 8.5" scar down the side of my leg (from tumor removal). I started applying it six weeks after surgery, with surgeon's encouragement and approval. Now, 3 months later, the scar is just a thin line, reasonably soft and getting softer, as I keep applying this vitamin E oil twice a day. This contains 25,000 IU per ounce, 50,000 IU total in the 2-ounce bottle, which is very concentrated and thick. Thin vitamin E oils don't contain enough vitamin E to do the job for scars. I am prone to hypertrophic and keloid scars, but won't get getting one since I am applying the vitamin E. I will continue to apply the vitamin E oil for at least a year, like I did with a 9" scar from abdominal surgery at Mayo Clinic years ago. The Mayo clinic scar is an incredibly thin line that is pretty much invisible now.I massage a little into the whole scar for several minutes and leave it on for 10 minutes and then wipe the excess off. This is a great product at a great price.
